Recorded in the basement of the Greenhouse Effect in Hove in December 2009, Pennies comes from our last session just before we all went our separate ways, not knowing when or if there would be another. Despite this, we characteristically spent our last hours demo'ing two completely new songs, of which Pennies is one.
Pennies is just one of those classic Nik Barrel tunes that Ginclub love to play - a groovey little rhythm nailed by Al; intertwined bass and rhythm guitar, swinging, waltzing and strutting; a little whine, a little grind from the lead; and a raunchy set of vocals from Nik and Dave. Rhytmn and blues bliss if we say it ourselves.
